ThemeBlocks Install + License Guide

Install your section in Shopify, then unlock it with your license key (if required).

In short:
1. Install the section in Theme Editor 2. Customize and save 3. Check your email for the license key 4. Paste the key to unlock (if locked)
Not all ThemeBlocks products require a license key. If your section is locked, use the license steps below to unlock it.

Install Guide (No Coding)

If you can click “Add section” in Shopify, you can install ThemeBlocks. Follow the quick steps below.

Quick install (60 seconds)
  1. Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes
  2. Click Customize on the theme you’re using
  3. Use the top dropdown to choose where you want it (Home / Page / Product / Collection)
  4. Click Add section → select ThemeBlocks (or the section name)
  5. Customize settings → click Save
Tip: If you want to be extra safe, duplicate your theme first: Themes → Duplicate.
Step-by-step install (beginner-friendly)

1) Open the Theme Editor

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes
  2. Find your current theme
  3. Click Customize

2) Choose where the section should appear

In the top bar dropdown (often says “Home page”), pick the page/template where you want the section.

  • Home page (common)
  • Pages (choose an existing page)
  • Products / Collections (if supported by your theme)

3) Add the ThemeBlocks section

  1. Click Add section
  2. Look for ThemeBlocks (or the section name)
  3. Click to add it

4) Customize and save

  1. Edit text, images, colors, spacing in the left panel
  2. Preview desktop + mobile
  3. Click Save
I can’t find “ThemeBlocks” in Add section

Try these quick fixes:

  • Make sure you’re editing the correct theme (the one published/live).
  • Refresh the Theme Editor tab and try again.
  • Confirm your theme supports Online Store 2.0 (most modern themes do).
If your theme is very old, it may not support sections everywhere. If you’re stuck, email us and we’ll help.
Common issues (quick fixes)
  • Not showing on live site: click Save, then refresh your storefront.
  • Looks weird on mobile: check mobile settings inside the section, reduce spacing, and resize images.
  • Wrong page: confirm you edited the same page/template you’re viewing on the storefront.

Some ThemeBlocks products use a license key. If your section is locked, follow the license steps below to unlock it.

1. During checkout – choose where to receive your license

When you add a ThemeBlocks section to your cart, you’ll see a small panel in the cart drawer called “License delivery email”.

There you can:

  • Enter the best email address to receive your license keys.
  • Use a different email from your store receipt if you want (for example, a dev/agency email).
Tip: Make sure you can access this email inbox – your license key and activation instructions will be sent there.

2. After purchase – you receive your license email

Once your order is completed, our license server will:

  1. Generate your unique license key (or keys if you bought multiple seats).
  2. Attach the key to your Shopify order for reference.
  3. Send a dedicated “ThemeBlocks License” email to your chosen address.

The email will include:

  • Your license key(s)
  • Basic usage instructions
  • A link back to your storefront or documentation

A license key usually looks similar to this: TB-1234-ABCD-5678-90EF-....

3. Activating your license in the theme

Step 1 – Open the section in the Theme Editor

  1. In Shopify, go to Online Store → Themes.
  2. Click Customize on the theme where you installed the section.
  3. Navigate to the page that uses your ThemeBlocks section (e.g. Home page).

Step 2 – Locate the license field

Inside the section, you’ll see a small license panel that says something like:

  • “Enter your ThemeBlocks license to unlock this section.”
  • It includes a text field and a button labelled “Unlock section”.

Step 3 – Paste your license key

  1. Copy your license key from the email.
  2. Paste it into the license field in the section.
  3. Click Unlock section.
  4. If the key is valid and not expired, the full section content will appear.
  5. Click Save in the top-right of the Theme Editor.
Once a valid key is used, it’s remembered in your browser so the section will stay unlocked when you revisit the editor or storefront, unless the license later expires or is revoked.

4. What happens when a license expires?

Licenses are usually valid for a fixed period (for example, 12 months from purchase). When a license is marked as expired on our side:

  • The next time the page loads, the section checks the license with our server.
  • If the license is expired, the content is hidden again.
  • An “expired license” message appears, with a link to renew.
If your license has expired and you need your section live again, simply renew or purchase a new license, then enter the new key in the same license field.

FAQ

Where can I find my license key again?

Your key is always sent to the License delivery email you added in the cart drawer. Try searching your inbox for “ThemeBlocks License”.

If you still can’t find it, reach out to us with your order number and store URL.

I used the wrong email in the cart. What do I do?

No worries. Contact us with:

  • Your Shopify store URL
  • Your order number
  • The correct email you want us to send the license to

We’ll re-send your license email to the right place.

Can I move my license to another store?

Licenses are typically issued per store (single-site or agency, depending on what you purchased). If you need to move a license to a new store, contact support and we’ll check what’s possible based on your license type.

My license looks valid, but the section still won’t unlock

Try this:

  1. Double-check you copied the entire license key, with no extra spaces.
  2. Refresh the page and try again.
  3. Clear your browser cache or try a different browser in case something is cached.

If it still doesn’t work, send us:

  • Your license key
  • Your Shopify store URL
  • A screenshot of the error message

Can I use one license on multiple stores?

This depends on whether you purchased a merchant license (usually single-store) or an agency license (multi-store). Check the product page for your exact license terms or contact us if you’re unsure.
